25 weeks! More Than Half Way!

So we have made it more than half way now. ! We have named our new little girl, but Alex and I are keeping it a secret. Her initials will be ABH. We will be having her baby shower on June 10th 2011 in Birmingham AL. Her bedroom is not ready yet but hopefully after the baby shower we will get a move on things. We have been very busy going back and forth to AL. Alex won temp custody of Hannah and Cole so we will soon be a family of 6. 

Baby ABH has still been staying very low on my bladder. She kicks and moves around all the time. A very active baby indeed. My uterus is about an inch above my belly button. She is growing so large in there. I can feel when she moves up to the front of my belly it gets rock hard and I can rub on her. I am very excited about having a new little one join our family soon.

 I have been craving Ice-E's or Slushes and Cookout- Banana MnM milkshakes. At the moment I am craving a huge plate from a BBQ place down the road called Thigs, that would include ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, and coleslaw with extra sauce! Here in NC the weather is getting nicer and we have been able to go to the beach a few times to develop a little sun. To be honest I am not looking forward to being 8 months pregnant in the dead heat of a North Carolina summer. Its so very hot and humid here because we are so close to the coast. 

My next OB apt is at the end of this month and we will be able to see little ABH. We have to have another ultrasound done due to the position she was laying in at the time of the first ultrasound. They were not able to get all the shots that they needed. Also at that same apt is my sugar test. They make you drink this very nasty sugar filled juice and then test your sugar an hour later. When I had this done with Madilyn I had a very bad crashing period after this test, that I got so tired and just passed out. We are still very excited because we get to see her again that day. We love our little baby ABH so very much !

First OB apt!

So today was my first OB appointment this morning. Thursday, 1.13.2011 -  We went to go see Dr. Draughn In Warsaw. We ended up seeing the nurse practitioner which was fine because she was very nice and helpful. Took the blood work and regular urine test and headed back to the room for pelvic exam,( never fun ). Madilyn ate doughnuts and she got messy but Daddy cleaned her up. After all that we went into the ultrasound room and got to see our little bean. He popped up right away. His little nub arms and legs were so cute! His heart rate was 157 and I was 8 weeks 5 days. I had my first ultrasound with  Madilyn at the same exact time. Her hr was 171. I'm pretty sure that this little bean is going to be A BOY! The old wives tale says that boys have lower heart rates. So we will see soon ! I have horrible nausea with this pregnancy and never had that with Madilyn. Other than the nausea and (tmi) gas pains, I have been OK. Honestly though its been miserable. I'm so ready for this trimester to be over and done with!

First Finding Out The Big News!

We had been planning this pregnancy and had been trying for two months. This journey started out with a book called "How to choose the sex of your baby" - We were trying for a boy. The book basically tells you to time intercourse around the exact time of ovulation. It was 5 and 6 days prior to my missed period and I took a Dollar General Test and the line was very very very faint. I took four more test and each day the line got a little darker. I told Alex that the test were slightly positive but that I didn't really know if it was a true positive. So we splurged and bought the digital test. Alex and I sat there and watched as the hour glass turned and turned on the test and suddenly Alex yells "BAMMM" !!! It says PREGNANT !!! I was expecting it to say not pregnant because it was still 4 days before my missed period. I did not find out with Madilyn until ten days past my missed period. But we were PREGNANT! Right now I'm 3 weeks and 2 days. Not far along at all. We are moving from FL back to NC and visiting AL in between for Christmas. I have come up with a great way to tell our family that we are expecting again. I have ordered Madilyn a onesie that says "I'm Going To Be A BIG Sister". As we visit each family members home I will ask a certain someone to take off her jacket and reveal the big surprise! I will be updating this regularly but for now this is it ! Got to chase around my one year old. Love her<3
